I am on the mailing list for The Wealthy Affiliate University – for anyone that does not know about WA this email I got from the owners, Kyle and Carson, might explain it a bit better.
Wealthy Affiliate (including Site Rubix) is well worth looking into if you are serious about making a living online. I just wish I would have found Wealthy Affiliate earlier as it would have certainly saved me a heck of a lot of money.
Anyway here's the email they sent out to their list….

Every day your inbox gets filled with the latest and greatest offers to show you how to get rich.
Some of these products can be pretty good but for the most part they are just pages and pages of rehashed information.
There is no getting away from it – you do have to learn – there is no such thing as "get rich quick".
I have spent a fortune on buying ebooks, software products, reports, traffic generators etc and all I ended up with was an empty wallet and a sore head after too much banging against the wall.
Is your situation like that?
Recently I was introduced to the Wealthy Affiliate Program. Oh my gosh – there is light at the end of the tunnel after all. Everything in wealthy affiliate is just pure gold. I am happy to report that I am now starting to make some decent cash promoting affiliate products online.
Every product in the Wealthy Affiliate Program is top notch and takes you step by step through the process – that's the part I missed out – The step by step approach – I used to just jump in – find a decent affiliate program then just start to promote it.
What I should have done was found a HUNGRY market first – then found the affiliate program Duh!
So – if you are struggling trying to make money online like I was, or if you are just beginning an internet marketing career I encourage you to take a look at these products. They ARE all you will ever need.
If I was to recommend one it would be the Wealthy Affiliate Membership Site mainly because you will get help from the members and owners of the program. However all the other programs are pure gold too.

You won't regret it..

If you are like me and find photoshop a hard slog. I found a great resource the other week. 101 photoshop Tips, Tricks and Tutorials on DVD.
The video DVD is done by a guy called Mark Monciardini who has won a few awards over the years. The DVD costs $97 but the great thing is you own it and it is not one of those online tutorials where you have to pay a monthly fee. Mark is a bit "hyper" shall we say – but one thing is for sure – he can certainly get the point over and you will learn all the ins and outs of photoshop from him. He does know what he is talking about.

I recently got an email message from Rich Schefren with a link to a video he made. If you really want to build a business online then this is something that you MUST SEE. Below is the pitch from the email and the link to the video.
"Now you might have gotten sucked into one or two of those "opportunity pitches", but I know you are NOT either lazy or stupid. How do I know? I only have to take a look at my inbox on any given day. I see REAL questions from REAL people who are searching desperately for the answers to their burning questions about how to make a serious income online. So I've put together another short video that spells it all out.I think this video is appropriate for anyone who's looking for a path that will take them to outrageous business success. But I've got to warn you, it's not for those who are looking for a quick fix. It's not for the weak. It's powerful (and profitable) stuff. I'm calling it "The Momentum Movie" and you can see it here:"

I like blogs. I like the simplicity of them and the ability to just add stuff without worrying too much about the formatting of the pages. What I don't like about them though, is the fact that it is difficult to make a customised website around a blog. I don't think blog websites sell products very well and you don't have that much control over layout etc.
So I set out to find a way if a person could develop a fairly simple website then incorporate a blog into it.
I went to feedburner.com to see what new stuff they had and was amazed as it appeared that they had added a lot of new modules since I was last there.
I then looked at wordpress.com and blogger. Wordpress.com is really good but there is a slight problem – if you as much as put a couple of affiliate links in you may get banned. (Apparently wordpress.com have very strict rules and don't allow you to set up commercial or affiliate type blogs) So not very good if you want to try make some money using affiliate links. You can go to wordpress.org and install a blog on your domain or subdomain. Which would be ok but requires a little fiddling and some web know how.
I looked at the new blogger and it is perfect because you can easily manipulate a blog with colours and even matching header (although you do need to fiddle with the code a bit) to match your website. I put some instructions up how to do this on my other blog here.
OK procedure for integrating a website and blog goes like this.
You go to blogger FIRST and set up new blog for your site.. Try and get a template that you can manipulate a little bit to make it look like your site. The "Denim" template is OK.
You set up your blog at blogger.
Next you think about your website. Make a header banner for it. Keep the website simple. Fixed center width with header banner 760 pixels wide. Make the first page of your website with your header banner. Then go back to blogger and insert a header in your blog (instructions here) and set up the colours using the simple layout tools to match your website. So now you have a blog at blogspot and a website that both look similar.
Just go ahead and make your website and add your content.
Once the website is done what we want to do is add some posts into the blogger account.
Blog Posts added we now go up to feedburner.com. We look for the module where we can put html on the website using our blogger feed. It's not html it's javascript and this is absolutely perfect. Why? Well because we don't have to bother about duplicate content. Search Engine robots can't read javascript. We can link the blog back to the website but because we are putting headlines from the blog on the website in Javascript then we don't have to worry about SEO penalties ie. links to and from each site and we don't have to worry about duplicate content. Basically we have a one way link here as far as Search Engines go – Blog to Website.
So we get the javascript code from feedburner and we paste that into a section on the front page of our website. We could use a little table with a heading something like "Latest News" or "Latest Blog Posts" or we could even make a page with a link called "Latest News" and paste the javascript code that Feedburner gives us. This Javascript will link right to the blog posts. Clever eh.
There is one other thing – we could even do away with autoresponders because Feedburner has an excellent module where you can make an email subscription box and place it on any site – where person subscribes to the blog feed and will get email updates every time you update your blog. You could post all your weekly newsletters on your blog. Subscribers will get your notification by email - and the great benefit of adding newsletter content to your blog is the fact that you are building the content and hopefully getting better search positions.
So what we have now is.
A website that is carrying all the latest news from our blog on the front page.
We have a subscription form on the website were a person can subscribe to our blog feed and get blog updates to their email.
We have a blog on blogger that is very well integrated with our website. BUT we don't have two way links. We have blogspot linking to our website but we don't have our website linking back to blogspot because of the fact that the search engine cannot read the javascript.
So you can see how I have done it here on this website.
http://www.topsearchpositions.co.uk/seoarticles.php
And if you click on one of the articles you will go to the blog hosted on blogger and you will hardly know you are on another website:):) So all clever stuff.
Let's take an example.
Let's say it's a Property website or Real Estate website.
They build their little budget website and integrate it with their blog. When it comes to entering properties or property news. They just go along to blogspot and enter the details with pictures etc. Takes two seconds. They can write as much as they want and put in as many pictures and videos from youtube, flickr etc and don't have to worry about formatting and adding new pages/links to their website.
Once they do that. The javascript will update on their website with their new posts. People just click through to the blog to see the news or new property. They also have the ability to get customers email address and the customers will not even need to come back to their website to see the new property – because it will be delivered to them by email.
It's a perfect business solution for small static websites.

For those of us that watch the news blogs you will have seen that Google has announced a Premier version of their online collaboration tools.
If you already have a gmail account you get a free version of the applications and will have probably seen links to them at the top of your gmail account. Basically you get access to a Calender, Google Talk, Spreadsheets, Documents, Photos and Easy Web Design. The main software, spreadsheets and docs, are like excel and word with the idea being that you can share and update your documents with other gmail account holders.
The apps are all pretty good and I'd say a great idea to have all your documents online so you can access them from any computer – All you need is an internet connection.
With the recent announcement of the Premier Edition of these tools I had another look at them. There is still a free version but the Premier Edition costs $50 or around £27 per person per year. I kinda thought to myself – if there is a free version why would anyone want to spend $50 for the Premier stuff!
When I read Google's introduction pages it got me thinking. This actually is a pretty good deal for any business. When you think on the costs involved in setting up computers and software for even a small team, the costs are pretty high. You have to look at things like servers and software etc. Using Google Apps you could do away with that. As long as you have computers and an internet connection, each person in your organisation can log in and use the software. If you apply for the Premier Edition you even get your own domain attached to gmail – so anything@yourdomain.com goes to your gmail account and google are offering 99.9% uptime and support telephone numbers.
So all in all I'd say it is a great budget option for any individual or any business – especially a small start up business – to get software at rock bottom prices. For the most part the free version that comes with a gmail account would do just fine however for $50 per person per year to get domain, admin tools, support etc it's certainly not going to break the computer budget and is worth looking into.
To get the free version all you need to do is sign up for a gmail account at www.gmail.com
You can read all about the Premier Edition here

If you are just begining to design your own site and you really know nothing about html then the excellent Site Build It software HAS to be the best resource out there.
I have just discovered that Ken Envoy has recently produced a kind of TV station that is geared to showing you what can be done and the kind of users that are using the software.
This is an excellent resource and, although it might not show you exactly how to design a web site, it will show you what can be achieved by using the software.
If you want to watch the show….
